Tweeters,
Yesterday at Rainier, Alan Grenon and I saw a White-tailed Ptarmigan with chick in between 1st and 2nd Burroughs out of Sunrise. Alan picked the bird out in the boulder field after we were alerted by an insistently calling marmot who appeared to want to be exactly on the rock where the ptarmigan was situated. The bird was seen about 70 meters off to the left hand side of the trail from the saddle between the 2 peaks. That coupled with fly over Rosy Finches, a Horned Lark feeding a very fluffy chick, 10 adult Mountain Goats with 4 young, and a great profusion of wildflowers made for a superb day
