Hello All,
Six of us departed Walla Walla at 6 am to beat the heat and get in some
birding. We visited the areas west of College Place and on out to the Walla
Walla River delta. The water on the delta was very high due to the
hydro-plane races in the tri-cities. Birds of note were:

Eurasian Collared Dove..........14 birds in Touchet
Solitary Sandpiper...................1 bird at the Millet Field
Great Egret..............................6 birds at the Millet Field
Black-crowned Night-Heron....2 birds at Tyson Ponds
MERLIN.................................1 ad.at Tyson Ponds, this is very
early for the species in this area.
Am.White Pelican......................500+ on Badger Island
Lazuli Bunting............................3 still singing in Wallula Gap
Eastern and Western Kingbirds....Many everywhere, most will be gone in
two-three weeks.
That's it for now.
Later Mike

PS-Located a good number of Anise Swallowtails in Wallula Gap flying around
and resting on a large patch of poison oak.
