This is how Mr. Bowtie 'plays' hard to get!

Mike Marsh and I saw this magnificent bird this weekend in Havillah, WA near Dry Gulch Rd. First time I had one in great light at this location and at one point the forest phantom was 8 feet from our car!!

I only received a handful of guesses on the 'mystery' grouse. Place a guess and don't CHICKEN out! Sorry to be such a slacker in posting the answer to those who guessed about a month ago:(
