Thinking about this more, I wonder if this isn't post-breeding dispersal at
work. Terry mentioned an Osprey joined it up in the thermals just before it
went silent and split off going eastward with its out-stretched neck and
trailing leg profile. Are there any King County records here for July? I
haven't checked my references yet.

Got a call from Terry Risdon (longtime birder) a short while ago. A
SANDHILL CRANE is soaring and calling over the Snoqualmie Valley between
Carnation and Fall City. She was working at Jubilee Farms and said it was
moving eastward. Is this bizarre or what?
