Hello Tweeters,
So sorry to reporting so late, but I having a sinus infection, what is real
bad(the first time in my life)
I birdied with Georgia Conti, who was visiting here from Mexico, formerly she
is well known as a very active birders in Seattle Audubon,
We met Tuesday the 28th,we got a late start since Georgia was coming late in
to Seattle. Our first stop was the Ocean Shores Sewage pond,it was around
12.30 PM.we was hoping that by any chance the Stint is still hanging
around. We had few Shorebirds a mixed flock of Western and Least.Walked
behind the Sewage ponds, who looked deserted, but we had 1 DUNLIN
in partly breeding plumage, and way out in the canal area we had
A.Pipits.When the birding get this way,Patrick and I was hoping for ONE GOOD
BIRD!!!!! This was the case when we found the Temminck's STINT on the Sewage
plant. So we figured our Best birding is still to come.
Our next stop was BOTTLE BEACH ,where the high tide was at 6;09.When we hit
the Beach we had tousen'ts of Shorebirds,
the most where Dowitchers species, there where both LONG &
SHORT billed, this guessing 2000 birds there where a lot of Black-bellied
Plovers,Semipalmated Plovers,Least&Western Sandpipers.NO DUNLIN!!! And
Georgia found 1 Ruddy Turnstone. We spend a lot of time going to all the many
Shorebirds and did not find something spectacular. But Georgia was so happy
with every Shorebird since she not have them where she lives. We had limited
time now,so next was Midway Beach, where the weather changed it was so
Windy,we had problem walking, but coming to the ponds, all what we had was 6
Killdeers & 4 Western Sandpiper.
But we had on both sides thousands of Gulls coming probable because of the
high winds. You can not predict the weather on the Ocean. We unfortunate had
no time to going to Tokeland. It was a lot of exchanging about our lives, she
moving to Mexico and her new live there, she is active birding taken visitor
out and showing them what species of birds can be found. It was a pleasure to
seeing here, and she changed not a bid.She worked in Alaska for some time
and got a big list of birds, but she did not got the Red-necked Stint on her
life list. When I feel better,I will post more of the stint.I running in a
loosing time, getting ill unexpectedly and my Gateway computer crashed what
was 7 years old.Now I working on my Dell laptop, and I am not used to it yet.

Cheers Ruth Sullivan
