Hi Tweeters,

As I was driving into Portland, from Vancouver, Tue. morning, I saw a raptor
with red or orange wing tags, sitting on a light pole along southbound I-5
at the SR14 exit (the last exit before the I-5 bridge). By the time I got
pulled over and retrieved my binoculars, I had a lousy view (from behind)
and was too far away for a positive ID -- brownish overall, with a barred
tail. I'm fairly certain it was not a red-tail, but beyond that, all bets
are off. On each wing was an orange (red?) tag, ~3" in diameter, with the
letter 'C' on it, in black.

Did anybody else happen to see and/or ID this bird? Any suggestions as to
who (or if) I should report this sighting to? As I understand it, they put
those tags on so that people will report sightings.

Suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,
