1. Thanks to everyone who responded with the info that my mystery bird was
a juvenile starling. Between your information and what I found elsewhere, I
learned a few things about juvenile phases.

2. The lens was found and reported on Craigslist by a wonderful human being
in my own neighborhood of Mapleleaf. His name is Mike Connors. He is an
outstanding bird photographer and says that he monitors Tweeters sometimes
but does not post. I thanked Mike, but if you know him I will be glad if
you extend my thanks as well.

BTW, the last couple of times I have gone to Union Bay Natural Area
(Montlake Fill), I have seen a peregrine falcon. Once perched in a tree and
once flying toestf the southwest. Is there any chance that a pair is
nesting around Husky Stadium?
