Many of you have been stopping at my house here at Hyak and so I wanted to
let you know about the activity going on now.



For the most part activity has slowed down considerably. The last two days
saw about an average of 4 ounces of nectar use per day. This is down from a
peak of over 300 ounces of nectar in one day.



I expect activity to be minimal through June, picking back up in July when
the fledgings are out in force.



If you stop by you are still likely to see a Rufous Hummingbird, but not in
the numbers that they were here a few weeks ago. For the most part you will
see males. We banded a total of 36 birds over two days (Sat & Sun) and 25
of them were AHY Males, though on Saturday a female was seen but not
trapped.



Activity is also starting to shift towards the back side of the house as
that is where most of the nectar was taken from, a significant shift from a
few days ago..
