Funny...I walked Myrtle Edwards Park (Seattle waterfront) yesterday from 11 - noon, and the water was empty of birds except for a pair of snoozing Harlequins near the grain terminal. I was surprised to see them there.

Subject: [Tweeters] Harlequin Thank You

Last week I asked for suggestions on where to find some Harlequins close by in June ? a species that was the top of the list for some visiting bird friends. I just wanted to thank all the fine folks who responded with great suggestions for places to try. What a generous and knowledgeable resource Tweeters is for those of us who bird in WA. Our Wisconsin friends were astounded (and envious).

The place that was successful for us was the Keystone Ferry dock on Whidbey Is ? 4 males and 1 female, all close in on the rock jetty in perfect camera ready position. Our friends were overjoyed.
Thanks again
Jan
