We live on the low side of Queen Anne a few blocks from the Smith Cove terminal. I keep hearing the gravelly shriek of terns at night (like right this minute!) even though I don't see any there during the day now. I've been hearing them consistently at night, though it sounds like only a couple of them. Most years we hear a lot more of them, certainly.
