Went to Rattlesnake Lake yesterday - 6/13. A bit blustery but warmed up as the afternoon "rattled on".

Unfortunately(?) I heard more than I saw, although we did catch sight of a black headed grosbeak, thrush (hermit?), a pair +/- waxwings (which actually cooperated and sat still for a nice close look (just beautiful), flycatcher - ash throated or would it have been a peewee?

Then, the one I could not spot, made a spiraling upward trill call - had never heard anything close. Name that bird...a new game show??

Also, went to Montlake "Fill" - things abit laid back - young redwing blackbirds / one giant turtle (bigger than the usuals) 18-24" across. 12 spot (?) dragonfly.

Grasses were lovely.

If my new friends Ann and Katy read this, please get in touch!!
