Yesterday, in my Sammamish neighborhood, I heard a bird expressing the same
sound (pitch) but at different speeds. Expressed in musical notation, the
sounds were:

1/4, 1/4/, 1/4, 1/4, buzzzzzzzzzzzzzz, 1/8, 1/8, 1/8, 1/8
OR
1/4, 1/4, 1/4, 1/4, 1/8, 1/8, 1/8, 1/8, buzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Later in Seattle, I saw a bird with a yellowish head (not bright yellow and
maybe reddish), a yellowish body, and black wing bars at the top of a fir
tree. I couldn't see it clearly because I didn't have binoculars and because
the sun was directly overhead, but it made a sound reminiscent of a
robin--with more of a "burry" character to its call. Could it have been a
goldfinch, a western tanager, or ???
