I spent 3 hours this morning watching, listening and waiting for this bird
to come within range of my 800mm lens. It did not approach as close as I
would have liked but I did get one decent image albeit heavily cropped. For
comparison I also got some good shots of a male lazuli singing. He is not
the brightest colored one I have seen but he was a bit of a showoff. These
two males got into a bit of a scuffle as I watched. They appeared to be
seeking the attention of a female lazuli that was close by.
