When I first saw this picture, I immediately thought Amakihi (Hawaiian
honeycreeper) which is obviously not a possibility. But the bill is so
distinctly shaped. Considering the yellow-ish coloration with black and
white markings on the wings, how about an AMERICAN GOLDFINCH with
long-billed syndrome or simply with something in it's beak?
Just a thought. I agree with Gene and Richard that it definitely does
not *appear* to be a cowbird.

No way that's a cowbird. Starling maybe.

That's a Brown-headed Cowbird?!!? Scheesch! That wasn't even on my
radar, thinking maybe oriole or wheatear or something truly alien.
Blurry, yes, weird photo, for sure, thus good quiz matter, if a cowbird
is indeed what it really is.

Thank you all for your help! Most votes were for Veery but it
was a
brown-headed cowbird, which a couple of you suggested.
What a generousbunch! Thanks again.
