Hi Tweets,

We've been observing dozens of pairs nesting Pelagic Cormorants at the
Anacortes ferry terminal for the past few weeks. The new steel pilings
for the wing walls have horizontal braces several feet apart on each
piling which provide nesting platforms for the cormorants. We first
observed the cormorants carrying nesting material to the pilings a
couple of weeks ago. Now each piling has several pairs of birds
incubating their eggs and chicks. They can be observed from a few
meters from the ferry especially on the car decks.
