Yesterday, June 24, Ruth Sullivan and I birded eastern Gray's Harbor
County. It was a great day to be out and about, and by 10am we were
shedding sweaters, jackets, and vests. It was actually warm! For me, the
following were the most interesting sightings:

o Least Flycatcher near the intersection of Elma Gate Rd. and Blockhouse
Rd. Lots of vocalizing from this little guy.

o Eyeball to eyeball views of a singing (and did it sing!) Red-eyed
Vireo along Howanut Rd. just before the bridge.
o Dusky Flycatcher along a trail/dirt road off of Howanut Rd.

o Warbling Vireo at Red-eyed spot.

o Approx. 10 Turkey Vultures and 6 Ravens enjoying a fine repast of dead
Coyote along Blockhouse Rd. Yummm!

I may have left out something worth reporting, so if I did--please
Ruth, fill in the gaps. And thanks for a great day of birding.

Good birding to all, Mike
