Tweets, A recent post requested info on crossbill sightings. 6/25 I
encountered crossbills along the Chehalis River/SR 6 corridor: (1) At
Rainbow Falls State Park, in forest south of hwy; (2) In firs & spruce at
the bend in River Road approx 2.5 mi E of the park. The cone crop looked
very healthy here. Plenty of crossbill racket but may have been only a few
birds or possibly a pair. Possible Hermit Warbler singing (my target bird)
but could not get a visual. Good birding!
