I wanted to quickly chime in here. As Jeff and Bill and Nancy have stated Serviceberry is a wonderful plant. In arid shrub-steppe areas I too have seen out of place riparian birds where just a few Serviceberry occurred in wet seeps. I happen to have only one of them in our yard, but its berries are usually taken soon after they are ripe by our nesting yard Robins.

I'd also love to put in a plug for a much loved book that has been mentioned many tmes before. Russell Link's "Landscaping for Wildlife in the Pacific Northwest" is a wonderful books for the plant lists alone in the Appendices. In the appendices it mentions wildlife that each plant may attract and is a must have book for anybody trying to landscape for birds or wildlife in our area.

With being tied to the home more than I used to be with a small family now, I've come to see the joys of having plants like Serviceberry and others bring the birds to the yard. When one can't get out, a birding walk in the yard is the next best thing, plus my daughter loves looking at all of our yard birds!
