hello, all:

the sno-falls peregrines appear about ready to start the 2009 nesting
season. scott dodson and i stopped by the falls around 1600 today. when we
arrived, the male was posted up on one of the three dead sentinel trees high
above the falls on the far side of the river, and the female was in her
usual spot on a line extending from the viewing platform on a lone toward
the left side of the lodge building. she looked fine and the light was good
enough we went back to the car to get photo gear. just as we returned the
male cruised by and the female flew across the falls. so much for any shot
at a useful photo. shortly after that the male reappeared with food which
he gave to the female on or near the site of the scrape three years ago, so
that's probably the place to watch over the next few days to see if she's
really going to set up housekeeping there.

regards,

t
