Dear Skagit Birders and Tweeters,

At about lunchtime today, there was a flock of five to six hundred gulls in a field near the junction of Thillberg and Francis Roads, between Mount Vernon and Clear Lake.

These gulls were feasting on some liquified manure that was being applied by the farmer.

Mew Gull: about 350;

Ring-billed Gull: about 150;

Glaucous-winged Gull: about 50;

AMERICAN HERRING GULL: one adult. This species can be harder to find in Skagit County than Glaucous or Thayer's Gull.

Yours truly,

Gary Bletsch ? Near Lyman, Washington (Skagit County), USA ? garybletsch at yahoo.com ? ?
