I can't help but mention 2 of my favorite birding/photography sites in South Florida. Both are run by Palm Beach County, and are water filtration sites. Both have boardwalks and closeup views of birds and alligators. Both are free, and open sunrise to sunset every day of the year. Green Cay has a visitor center.
