Hi, I have tried to reply to every response I got in my questions about having 4 days around Anchorage. It sounds like it will be a really beneficial trip, and I should get my Ptarmigans, as well as other target species. Nesting shorebirds and others are going to be a bonus as well. I have an Alaska Bird Guide coming, that will be a great help from ABA. I already have more than enough material, a guide for a day in Anchorage and that area, a map coming for the peninsula, (heading to Homer it looks like) as well as possible lodging. So now, I just need to work on specific's, including songs and call notes, which I have plenty of I do believe!
I did want to give a personal thanks to all of you who sent me links, as well as offering their own personal experiences for my upcoming trip. It will be a very busy and full 4 days. What is nice the sun only sets for a while, which is great for me, I can sleep when I get home! I have been assured that it will be pretty safe going it alone in the areas I planned to anyway, as long as I am careful, and watch for feeding grizzlies. The salmon is running really well the end of June.
I will definitely be posting my information, andy decent pictures, and finds on both of these groups in detail.
I also want to thank again for the information about the yahoo digiscoping link, and I am enclosing the email here for others in case they would like to take a peek, it has been a lot of information for a newbie at this!
