Before assessing blame, it helps to know the facts. One should at least
attempt to learn them before making accusations. This is not a choice
that the Refuge made based on a desire to inconvenience us all. They, as
much as the rest of us understand the differences of the different
times of the year. According the the full release story in the Columbian
this morning, the timing has to do with the timing of the available of
funding.

Given the condition of that bridge and the availability of other refuges
in the area, I think we should be able to find a number of other places
to get that "tonic of wildness." In the process we might even discover
some new areas that have been overlooked.
