This afternoon during a particularly strong squall about a dozen gulls
settled on the water and shore, as though they had just voted that
discretion was the better part of valor. Among the more customary species
was one Western Gull in second-winter plumage. A very unusual species for
around here, and what a bill. Now that's a schnoz.
