Hi Tweeters:

We cleaned several miles of bluebird boxes today in the Tunk Valley and Chiwiliken area of the Okanogan.? Saw lots of mountain bluebirds...but there was still snow up there.? None of the boxes had signs of being used yet.? I was worried that we were too late, but apparently not.? A couple of boxes looked more like swallows had used them last year, and a couple were full of sticks from wren use.? Saw three golden eagle nesting sites, but no sign of the birds.? We saw a couple of goldens mating a couple of years ago just a few yards from where we were on the road.?It was a bit later I think.

Also saw red-tailed and rough-legged hawks, bald eagle, and some of the other usual suspects.

In our backyard we had around 80 Canada geese jockeying for control of the space.? We had an unusually high number of Killdeer in the yard, around 16!?

Spring has (almost) sprung!
