After seeing Penny's post I visited Discovery Park and started searching for the Bluebird. On my first pass through the South Meadow I had no luck so I decided to head down to the lighthouse to see if it ended up in the same area where a pair were spotted last year. No luck there either. I did spot the usual Sanderlings, a fairly large raft of Western Grebes, Wigeons, Gadwall's Horned Grebes, Brants, various Gull species, Song Sparrows, plus other normal residents but no Bluebirds. On my way back to the South Parking lot, by the way a tough trek for an old guy, I ran into a couple who were birding and they had spotted the Bluebird 5 minutes earlier, in the South Meadow, right where Penny first spotted it. A big thanks to them for steering me in the right direction. When I got to the location they pointed out, no Bluebird. I continued up the path and ran into Allen a birder who had his bins zeroed in on the Bluebird. That made my day! Another big thanks to Allen for helping keep the bird in sight so I could a photo.
