I had occasion to be in the Port Angeles/Sequim areas earlier today and took
the opportunity to do a little birding. Besides a few hundred Brant and
several hundred American Widgeon at The Three Crabs, I observed 55 Tundra
Swans. The swans were located near the intersection of Port Williams and
Schmuck roads about 2.5 miles NE of downtown Sequim. They were about 150
yards north of Port Williams rd. and 50 yards west of Schmuck. There is a
farm/dirt road parallel to Port Williams Rd. which affords safe viewing. I
have no idea if they frequent this area. The weather was sunny, about 60
with no wind or rain.
