Subject: [Tweeters] Late April-mid May for Nesting Pileated,

The young from the pair of pileated woodpeckers that live in our
neighborhood typically leave the nest near the end of June. Working
backward that would mean the eggs are probably laid in early May
sometime.

I haven't seen the female in a few days, but the male was out pounding
on the telephone pole in front of our house early this morning.

I also had a close encounter with the male in my back yard earlier
this week while I had my camera out.
