This morning's Everett Herald reported on the stranded White Sturgeon in Port Susan Bay, which I posted about a few days ago.

The state Fish and Wildlife Dept. reported the number of fish stranded as 1,500 with "some of the fish up to ten feet long". About a dozen died, though the rest survived apparently.

The report also states that most of the Sturgeon in Puget Sound breed in the Fraser and Columbia Rivers. The masses of fish in Port Susan most likely there feeding on mud dwelling creatures.
