While purchasing some flash photography equipment online, I mentioned
to the retailer that I was preparing for a trip to Costa Rica to
photograph (among other things) hummingbirds. He referred me to an
online photo gallery of his (apparently successful) efforts to rescue
a hummingbird whose flying ability had been compromised by some
sticky goop on its wing and leg. Be sure to hover your mouse over the
