Tweets, Monday morning Bob Sundstrom and I checked out Waldrick Rd & lower
Weir Prairie E of Tenino and visited the Centralia steam plant in N Lewis
Co. No bluebirds or kites (due to wind??) but a few highlights:
- Eur. Wigeon: 6 drakes (seems like a remarkable number) W of steam plant
below paved access up hill to Bonneville office & substation (often there
are trains blocking this view) and 1 pair in pond on Waldrick Rd ~1 mi N of
Military Rd.
- 2 f Canvasback hanging around and a few C Goldeneye passing thru at steam
plant.
- Hundreds of Violet-green & Tree Swallows at Mull St marsh just E of
Tenino, the largest number we have ever seen there.
- Slate-colored Junco and White-throated Sparrow are visiting Bob's feeders.
Note: $500 fine for using Tono Rd, closed from Bucoda to steam plant.
Good birding!
