Today, I drove to Pt. Wilson to look for the yellow-billed loon that
seems to have over-wintered. Arriving at 11:30, I had the scope on
the loon in five minutes. It moved around considerably, at times
popping up after traveling hundreds of yards underwater. Though
usually at least a couple of hundred yards out, once it surfaced
within 50 yards of me, as if looking me over out of curiosity, then
it dove and I could not find it again.
