Subject: [Tweeters] Omak and surrounding area last weekend - pictures

I spent 3 days last weekend with another photographer from Omak and came
home with photos of some of my target species. He had a blind set up near a
cattle feed lot which allowed us to get very close-up images of RING-NECKED
PHEASANTS. Additionally we found GRAY PARTRIDGE in 4 different locations.
The best was near the town of Chesaw where a covey of 10 gave us great photo
opportunities. On Saturday we saw a flock of 42 WILD TURKEYS, all toms, trek
across the snow as they headed for higher ground. Then on my way home I
found another flock of about 50, mostly hens, south of Twisp. MOUNTAIN
BLUEBIRDS seemed to be everywhere. In one location we saw about 30 of them
working a fence row, making numerous flights out to the field where they
hovered. I saw a gorgeous adult GOLDEN EAGLE at the WA DOT road kill dump
site just north of Omak. Waterfowl were in abundance with RING_NECKED DUCKS
seeming to dominate. We watched SHARP_TAILED GROUSE fly from the top of one
tree to the next, much like pigeons. Of course they were too far away for
photos but fun to watch anyway. I was hoping to get photos of gray-crowned
rosy-finches but could not locate any.

Sorry I don't have specific directions - I was too busy looking for photo
ops. I have added several images to the "last uploads" album of my website
if you are interested.
