Hello Tweeters,
It was good that I kind of watched my Yardbirds today.Right in the morning I
had a male Purple Finch on the sunflower seeds. It is RARE here in Fircrest
seeing this species here. That remind me on September 19-2007 at 7.20 AM
Patrick saw 6 Purple Finches flyover. This was the last bird Patrick
reported here. This bright Purple Finch stayed all day, hopeful he is staying
here for a while.I saw my first female Rufous feeding close to my Patio
twice, but always going in to the big Laurel bush, where she probable already
having a nest.I don't see my female Anna's at all,so there should have young
any time now
But today for the first time after more than 2 weeks,I had 2 males Pileated
Woodpecker coming to the Suet. One of this male is coming from the Country
Club what is the opposite direction where the others always flying to the
wild marsh area.I think that the female also sitting on the nest, since there
paired up in February.Fircrest is well know to having pairs of Pileated
breeding here.
I am so surprised that my pair of Townsend's Warblers are still here and
coming to the Suet least three times a day.
And the Flying Squirrel,I think is still around, since every morning he
leaves evidence digging in the Suet feeder, what I was thinking use for the
bird,in case I got Starlings, the suet is on the bottom and the Starling not
feeding this way.I replace the cake twice since, but this Squirrel feed after
1.00 AM in the morning and leaves some suet back on the patio.I also have an
abandon Birdhouse hanging where no birds ever nested,he easily could sleep
there in the day time.I am tempted to open this house up one time to see.I
feel myself so lucky that I owe such yard design for birds. It took me and
Patrick on three years, but now it is not only for the birds,I also have
little yardwork.
