Had a really interesting quick glimpse yesterday of an unusual bird for Orcas Island - either a Yellow-bellied or Red-naped Sapsucker. The day was dreary, so the light was bad, and it was in the forest. The only thing I'm sure of is that it was one of the two. I was on the way to an appointment in town so couldn't take up the hunt but will
try again to find it. I did get my bins on it, but briefly. Any thoughts?
