Hi Tweets,

When I ran into Ted Peterson at the Edmonds Marsh this morning, he
suggested we should check the Willow Creek Hatchery because the first
Wilson's Warbler shows up around May 1st. Well, we did and we found
no warbler of an species. Ted got his hopes up again as we headed
for Yost Park. No Wilson's there either. And we almost left before
we spotted the two Black-throated Grays. At least we found one
warbler species! Well, sure enough, Mr. Yard Warbler sent me a
message a short time ago that he went home and saw a Wilson's Warbler
in his yard this afternoon! It's a new yard bird for Ted and I'm
still waiting for my first yard warbler of any ilk. So far it's been
an almost 30-year wait. I've seen Ted's yard. I don't know why he
gets them and I don't. I've got the habitat in the neighborhood for
warblers but just don't see them. But then I haven't figured out why
Dennis Duffy gets Red Crossbills in his yard and neighborhood almost
every year. He's about a mile southwest of me and has been listening
to them for the past couple of weeks. Big fir trees both places. He
gets them, I don't. Sometimes life is just for the birds.

Good birding,
