Hello Tweeters,
I planted to making the trip to Bowerman Basin, especial for Passerines in
the big Wetlands across the pond. There is a way to get in to the wetlands
from Paulson Road, but I spend way to much time on the Dragonflies.I never
figured that I still getting so exited to seeing something so new for me
seeing only females,.
I went to Brady Loop Road, where my first birds where the 2 nesting
Ospreys, and one of the adults bringing food to the nest,so there having
young to feed.I taken only photos when there was both in the nest,it was fun
to watch, since I started on the north side ,I stopped at the bridge and got
out, here I had a big group of Yellow-rumped Warblers, some had white on the
Chinn ,so there would be Myrtle, but most where Audubon., about 10 birds
Further down the road I spotted some real bright Savannah Sparrows ,there
landed in the fresh dark plowed fields ,where there really looked bright
gold.I stopped at Schafer Boom, where I finally found some Shorebirds 19
Greater Yellowlegs 1 LESSER Yellowlegs, standing with a greater to
compare, looking like a midget..In the back I saw some birds but it was to
far to ID first, but watching this bird walking there all was Robins with few
Pipits mixed
in.On the other side there where 5 Golden Crowned Sparrows,it is getting
late for them to leave,There where a pair of AM.Wigeon and 4 Northern
Shovelers. The ducks are ready to leave,so there is going to be less birds to
count than. Not to forget the Raven I had, there count more than Crows. The
last birds where a good looking Scrub Jay who posed nicely for some
photos. On the Freeway between Brady and Satsop I counted 5 Turkey Vulture
,there are always such Magnificent birds, better yet when there perched. It
was a great day with good weather and great birds, the most exiting where all
the female Dragonflies!!!!
