I mostly lurk, because I am never sure if anything I have to say will be of any interest, but since I don't recall seeing mention of EVENING GROSBEAKS in recent posts, just thought I'd mention that we saw our first one of the year in the backyard here in Maple Valley, right on the shore of beautiful Spring Lake.



It was a beauty too; the white they carry on their wings is just so, so brilliant I am always amazed -- whiter than any?t-shirt that has come out of my wash in about forever.
