I followed Evan Houston's direction and visited Surber/41st to catch a few migrants. I did not see the numbers Evan was lucky to see but I did have fine looks at Wilson's Warblers. And I observed Vireo spp., a Western Wood Peewee, and an Empid. The vireo had a black cap (for lack of a better word) and long white eyebrow w/dk eyeline - a red eyed perhaps. The pewee and empid were quite active but silent and all birds spooked by 5 young men who came in and started smoking a bit of weed at which point I left as I was spooked as well. ;-) Not to mention wanting to avoid the 2nd hand smoke....
These were all observed by taking the interpretive trail off the parking lot at the Hort Ctr (off 41st).
