Hi, The Grosbeaks were EVERYWHERE. What I call a nice sized fallout. I don't know if a Coopers Hawk came through or what, but they flew and I did not hear them the rest of the evening. Usually they are here a good two weeks when I get large numbers, so I hope they do come back. I did go out just now 5:40 AM to re-fill the ground feeder they love so much, and heard the Per-Dic of the Western Tanager. My Black Headed Grosbeak, (one lone male, so far) showed up several days ago. Now I am waiting on my Swainson's Thrush to start singing and calling, and the Willow Flycatcher to appear, and then the chorus will finally be complete. Although I have also (in the past) had the Olive Sided Flycatcher calling, (not staying however) so I hope he comes through again also. Except I am also waiting for my Wilson's Warbler, Western Wood Pee Wee, Pacific Slope Flycatcher, etc.... So we still have a few empty seats in the choir after all! It is early!!!! I need my coffee! They have done lots of clear cutting, so I am concerned my little buddies will not show up, it is a waiting game for sure!
