As of 1:30 pm yesterday, May 12th, The RED CROSSBILLS previously reported in
Twin Lakes , are still in the area.. They were busily munching and crunching
away on the purple fruit pods of the newly emerging pine cones. They were
creating the usual mess on the ground, which prompted me to look up. There
were about 10 - 15 constantly moving birds.
