Hey tweets, yesterday was a great day at the Fill (but then, they
*all* are). Best birds of the day for me were: Greater Yellowlegs (not
exactly a long visit - more of a touch-and-go); Western Kingbird
(found in the Dime Parking Lot, thanks to Doug Parrott); Black-headed
Grosbeak (found at Surber, thanks to Evan Houston). Yellow Warblers
have finally arrived; Wilson's Warblers and Yellow-rumps were
everywhere, and a late Golden-crowned Sparrow lingered in the field
south of the greenhouses. Three American Wigeons were on the Main Pond
and will no doubt be moving on soon. Husband John saw Pa Eagle
carrying a snake back to the nest. John managed to glimpse one fuzzy
head sticking up so cigars all around.

FYI, the CUH has posted its draft master plan for UBNA on the UBNA web
site and is seeking public comment. If you're interested in seeing
what the CUH has in mind for the Fill, Google UBNA and follow the
directions to get to the draft plan. Comments are due in early June. -
