Hello Tweeters,
When I came home at 1.15 PM, to put my tomato plants in my backyard,I was
surprised that I found on 6 Western Tanager all males in my dripping
birdbath.But this was not all there where a lot of this species flying from
the Fir trees in to my neighbors yard,I count 26 of this birds ,there could
be easy more.This invasion is only the second time we experienced this
species came in this numbers.There all disburse now going in different
yards.It so happen that I went to the ADRIANA Wetlands where our Tahoma
Audubon have there office.( We are so lucky that we having this wonderful
place to bird.We had our annual monthly walk two hours what is once a
month.Usual it is only an hour,but doing the birdathon we done this 2
hours.This is what Patrick started few years back,but I continue this in his
honor.We counted 30 species and had few highlights.
There where: Spotted Sandpiper (in breeding plumage) 2 breeding pair
Killdeer (with three eggs)Virginia Rails 2 Adult with 3 young birds ,(what
we all saw.) Vaux Swift.And a Slider Turtle(on pond)
At home today I seeing the Violet Swallows flying already low and going in
to the box.Patrick spotted this birds already when there still was flying so
high,so there probable been here for a while.
