Beautiful Day!!!
After unsuccessfully finding the location for the Black-necked Stilts in the Snohomish area I decided to head for the Fill. It always perks up my day. I wasn't disappointed at least not completely. My goal was to locate the Lazuli Bunting's that have been recently sighted, a big dip on that one. BUT Connie Sidles steered me to the potential location of a Pectoral Sandpiper and I found it, at least I thought I did. I took a few photo's and was pretty happy. When I saw Connie later I thanked her for the tip and since I still don't know my Sandpipers I asked he if a Pectoral Sandpiper looked like a Spotted Sandpiper. She said no. I showed her a photo and she told me it was a Spotted Sandpiper. OOPS! I guess I dipped on the Pectoral also. So what, I found a Spotted Sandpiper. In addition there was a, I think a female Ring-necked Pheasant that was very cooperative. I also have been watching a Pied-billed Grebe's nest. We now have little Pied-billed Grebeletes at the Fill. I did get some photo's but they are long distant. I don't want to disturb them too much. So watch where you walk out there around the various ponds.
