Dear Tweeters,

A group of 14 were treated to a beautiful day and very close up viewing of
Western Tanagers, Western Wood-Pewee, Rufous Hummingbirds, and more.
Orange-crowned Warblers serenaded us, while Tree Swallows, Violet-green
Swallows, and Vaux's Swifts flew overhead. We discovered a Steller's Jay
nest with young in it, which absolutely thrilled the younger members of the
group. McGillivray's Warblers have arrived along with Evening Grosbeaks,
which were using the feeders near the office.

Our next walk will be on May 23rd, beginning at 8 am. The walk will start
on the east side of the park near the Office/Maintenance Building. We are
still awaiting the arrival of a few more birds such as the Gray Catbird and
Brewer's Sparrows and maybe we'll even discover some new birds for the park!
