Hi Tweeters,

I lead a birdathon trip for Eastside Audubon to Medina Park and a few other parks local to the area. Totally unexpected was a Western Meadowlark that flew onto the lawn and started foraging. I've never seen one there before and have birded the park many times. At least two Great Blue Heron nests have young in them and we got many good looks. Bullock's Orioles were present but haven't found the nest(s) yet.

As Jeffrey Bryant already posted there is a plethora of Pectoral Sandpipers on 204th in Kent, see his post from earlier today. I counted one less than he did, 14 and felt there could have been something on the order of 5ish more in there, they were feeding in the grass too and hard to see them all at the same time. The Least Sandpiper he mentioned is an odd looking little sandpiper, it almost looks like it has "horns" like a horned lark sort of, two slightly browner 'bumps' on the head, symetrically placed.
