Hi all,
?
Sorry, my apologies to tweeters as?I hit reply thoughtlessly and didn't realize I was posting the whole list in response to the really great post about feathers as swallow nesting material.?
?
Meanwhile,? Walk?carefully everyone if you're heading up Robinson Canyon.? Curt & Bobby Pearson and Delia and I had 10 encounters with Western Rattlesnakes there yesterday.? Twice I came up on ones a little too fast and they coiled, I would have rather not done that, as they are very respectful animals and deserve a little respect in return--really a neat sight.? Also had a really nice?Bull Snake.? Great birds, but many fewer Empids than the day before when Curt and Bobby had?a number of?Duskys and Hammonds.
?
In the spirit of the late, great and very missed Kevin Li, Delia and I checked out Seattle's southern Martins today in the middle of the day?and found Jack Block Park closed, the sign didn't say how long.? We couldn't get any visibility at all to the gourds.
?
At T105 there were at least five adults.? At Herrings House Park (Kellogg Island) there were at least two pairs as well as a pair of Tree Swallows.
?
Also over 82 Caspian Terns and a Yellow Warbler at Herrings House.
?
Thanks all,? ednewbold1 at yahoo.com residential Beacon Hill, where we had our LifeYardBird Cassin's Vireo Friday?
