hi group ...

I was standing in the yard tonight watching the Lesser Goldfinches
fly to and from the thistle sock ... as I watched one Lesser fly in
from a nearby tree I was amazed to see a male Anna's come zooming in
from the side and collide with the Lesser !!!!!! ... knocked the
Lesser clear over ... at first I thought it was another Lesser until
I saw the bird hover and watch the Lesser regain altitude and
continue to the thistle sock ... the hummer then flew to the thistle
sock himself and buzzed the Lesser from about 2 feet away ... the
hummer THEN flew my direction and hovered in front of my face about 2
feet away ...

about 10 minutes later I saw a house finch flying across the yard
with a hummingbird in pursuit ...
