For the first time since we moved here in 2003 we are being visited by a
flock of Evening Grosbeaks. We are located on Cougar Mountain at about 1000
ft elevation just up the mountain on 176th Ave where May Valley Rd crosses
Hwy 900 or Sunset, the Issaquah-Renton Rd. Our address is 17519 SE 102nd
St.

George, we're not far from you as the Grosbeak flies, near Lake Boren at
about 800 ft. Twelve to fifteen years ago, Evening Grosbeaks were a regular
backyard visitor. This year is the first since then that they've made
multiple appearances. And not to the feeders. They're concentrating on the seeds
hanging from the Big Leaf Maples in the greenbelt behind us. It's so good
to see and hear them!
