Tweeters,

Last fall, I had about 100 Evening Grosbeaks hanging around for a couple of
weeks eating from the noble fir seed crop. I thought the Evening Grosbeaks
here this spring left when the Black-headed Grosbeaks came in last week. I
was wrong: there are at least four male and three female Evening Grosbeaks
hanging around the feeders. (I think the BioBlitzers that were at my house
last Saturday may have seen them, too.)

May all your birds be identified,

Denis DeSilvis

For the first time since we moved here in 2003 we are being visited by a
flock of Evening Grosbeaks. We are located on Cougar Mountain at about 1000
ft elevation just up the mountain on 176th Ave where May Valley Rd crosses
Hwy 900 or Sunset, the Issaquah-Renton Rd. Our address is 17519 SE 102nd St.

The last time we observed Evening Grosbeaks was in Michigan many years ago.

Is this a rare occurrence?
